Project title: Three-Dimensional X-Ray diffraction for solar cell materials

Project description:

Three-Dimensional X-Ray diffraction (3DXRD) is a useful technique for understanding the microstructure of all materials. It is used to gain information about orientation of grains, texture, and strain distribution of various crystalline phases in the sample. This project focuses on using and optimizing these 3DXRD methods to improve solar cell devices and their efficiencies. Knowledge about the microstructure of these devices using in-situ 3DXRD can help us to understand how these devices evolve under working conditions. This project is part of the Centre of Excellence on hard materials, SOLID which has focus on research using the state-of-the-art large-scale facilities, ESS and MAX IV.
